Dundalk is a vibrant town situated half-way between Dublin and Belfast. It is also the administrative capital of Co. Louth, with the headquarters of the County Council, Motor Taxation and other services.

Dundalk has an Institute of Technology situated on the Dublin road which offers a wide range of varied courses for students to study and undergo research into new technology. 

The town also hosts an international Amateur Drama Festival in May every year. 

The town also has a soccer team that plays in Oriel Park. The team are currently in the 1st Division of the Eircom league.

Dundalk town has great shopping and leisure facilities. It has four main shopping centres, the Dundalk Shopping Cente, The Long Walk shopping centre and the Carroll Village shopping centre and the Marshes which have some excellent shops. The town also has a bustling night life with a wide range of pubs and clubs with to choose from.

There is also a wide range of accommodation available and leisure facilities such as golf, angling, hill walking, cycling and bowling to choose from.
